Use of inappropriate imperative? why it must be Vicki Dunne.

As someone who has sadly been forced to read more than his fair share of media releases there is one thing that shows me I’m dealing with an inferior intellect.

It’s the use of the imperative by a speaker with no power.

Which is why my hackles were particularly risen by this headline on the Canberra Liberals site:


In all probability they should, but they MUST do nothing they choose not to.

as gungahlin increases in size and gets closer to hall, the number of students at hall will increase ? omgwtfbbq ? theres like 40,000 schools in gungahlin. i’d say its much more likely the kids from hall will end up at gungahlin.
