The Raiders held on to the bitter end against the Cowboys in Townsville on Saturday night. Matt Gaffa scored on fulltime for the Raiders, to bring the final score to 31-28.

Credit needs to go to the Raiders as they had to scrape to find 17 players fit enough to play without breaching their salary cap. Three Raiders palyers, Jason Smith the most notable, played with broken bones against the Cowboys. Todd Carney’s game improved (scoring 1 try), and Jason Williams again made an impact in the forwards.

Details are available at the Raiders’ site.

The Raiders play the Eels away next week before playing their last home game against Manly the week after.
