Vikings Club staff member shot in leg with nail gun during aggravated robbery

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after an aggravated robbery at the Lanyon Vikings Club last night (Sunday, 11 June 2017).

Two men, wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, entered the club around 11:10 pm, armed with a modified nail gun and knife and made demands for cash.

Staff complied with the demands, and as the men were leaving the club a number of nails were shot at staff and patrons. One of the nails struck a staff member in the leg.

The two men then fled the club on foot.

The injured staff member, with minor injuries, was transported to The Canberra Hospital.

Police are urging anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously around 11:10 pm near the club or anyone with information about the aggravated robbery to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can also be provided online via https://act.crimestoppers.com.au.
