In two days, the election will be over and the kerbside corflute collection will have begun, but we’ll always have the memories of the RiotACT’s candidate baking challenge to remind us of how much fun the past five weeks have been.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated for welcoming us into their homes, coming up with an idea, cooking it up and sharing the results with us and with the camera. The challenge was open to all 141 candidates. 17 volunteered to take part, which is probably for the best given the potential damage to the waistline from such an event.
Criteria to consider include but are not limited to originality, creativity, effort, sense of fun, sophistication, whether you’d ever cook the recipe yourself and most importantly, relevance to the candidate’s vision for Canberra.
Taste is another factor, but only we can be the judge of that, and we’re carrying the extra 2kg to prove it.
If we have sufficient response, the winners in both categories will be announced on election night, so get voting!
