Actew are giving notice that their consultation on future water restrictions ends on Friday.

Public consultation has been underway since mid April with new concept schemes available for review and comment. The concept schemes incorporate comments received from the public and lessons learned by ACTEW over nearly a decade of drought and water scarcity, and propose some changes to existing conditions for activities like garden watering during winter and vehicle washing.

ACTEW Managing Director Mark Sullivan said “We are now coming to the end of the public consultation phase of the review and I sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to contribute so far.

“There is still some time to get involved and I encourage anyone interested in water issues to do so before Friday – it’s how we’ll ensure the best possible scheme is in place to suits the lifestyles and needs of Canberrans while ensuring we make water savings during water scarcity”.
