What has happened to the Naked Fish?

By PauletteP - 25 September 2009 5

The Naked Fish at Southlands seems to have changed hands. Does anyone have some inside information?

What’s Your opinion?

I ordered takeaway fish and chips here last week and was greatly disappointed – this place used to be excellent. The fish and calamari were totally shrivelled- and actually inedible. Thank goodness for the chips. Perhaps fish doesn’t need to be cooked as long as donuts! Or maybe it was just a bad night – not going back to find out though. The new Portuguese chicken shop where ZingFish used to be is very good though!

Yes it has changed ownership. It’s now owned by the same guy who owns the Donut King in the Woden Plaza.

Not sure if you’re confused bd84 – Naked Fish is in the row of shops between the Caltex and Mobil servos. The Zing Fish shut down about a year ago, which was just along from Plaka’s pizzeria & restaurant.

We’ve always had good stuff from Naked Fish and I guess that’s why they’ve kept going. Zing Fish was odd (they had some “special” batter). Naked Fish however are your good ol’ traditional fish and chips.

I didn’t know it had reopened. The former version closed about a year ago and stayed that way along with the rest of the shops.

No information on the ownership, but we bought our dinner there tonight and it was pretty good – although the serve of chips was a tad stingy the rest of the seafood was great.
