egg on a shovel

Matt The Brat has sent this in:

Picture – Heat wave

It felt so hot last week in Canberra I thought I could fry an egg on a shovel.

So I did.

It looks like it is free range (egg and backyard).

The egg-test is starting to become just a tad bit old…

One of these days I’d like to see a full BBQ recipe being cooked under the sun.
Sausage, steak, lamb chops, veges, shrimp, barra, the lot.

Your lawn looks a bit crunchy.

Are you rehearsing for a BBQ outside Bunnings?

I can imagine this being served (in miniature) in a rather pretentious restaurant, with a menu title such as ‘call a yolk a spade’ or ‘over easy on the shovel’. With green chips to represent grass and a mushroom balanced within. Perhaps a gnome holding a tiny spade?

Is that going too far?

Nah, not far enough actually. Imagine how fun it would be to eat that meal while hovercrafting around LBG!

That is eggcellent.

Unfortunately he had no way of toasting the bread to go with it. Fried eggs on toast, unless being eaten with chips and beans that is, when a regular slice of bread and butter is the way to go.

I doubt he could eat a WHOLE shovel, but he could probably gnaw-off a bit of the handle in time.

Did you eat it?
