nah, was definitely hazy moon… am not in chifley much, as a rule. ta the update on hazy status, though; am trying to fit in tomorrow visit. (will seek an update if i make it)

astrojax, could you be thinking of Kanga Books in Chifley? They closed down quite some time ago and went online only.

I was in Ainslie this morning (well before opening time) and saw the owner in the shop, so maybe they’ll be open for a few more days?

hazy moon’s ‘closing down half price sale’ has been on for quite some time now and, last i heard (from a well known canberra author) it was now not closing down and maintaining only an on-line presence, for which the sale was initially intended (according to the chap in there to whom i spoke)…

is this actually fresh info, or a report based on the signage in the shop, i-filed?

OK, I haven’t noticed any change in the quality of their military section, which is typically very good.

It could also be that the new owners of Booklore weren’t that into militaria or art books.
It’s pretty standard, when you’re buying a business, to tell the owners if there are particular product lines you’re not interested in and they’ll offload them cheap before the change of ownership takes place. So the new owner doesn’t pay for stock they aren’t interested in continuing with.
