Over the weekend 24-25 March 2012 around 3500 Mountainbike racers from all over Australia flocked to East Kowen forest to ‘Ride the Kow’. A massive tent city formed in the paddocks on the side of the Kings Highway. 19km of sweet flowing trails greeted the racers as they fought cramps, cold, and tacky soul sucking mud in parts as they raced for fun or glory.
The Mini Mont, put on by the Cycle Education Team, catered for the kids racing with numbers in each category requiring wave starts to space the younguns out on the track. There were big smiles all round as the kids got amongst the dirt. Certainly some up and coming champions amongst them.

It was great to see such a fun atmosphere both on and off the track. Well done to Self Propelled Enterprises for putting on a great event.
