Glebe Park is set to get some fancy new paving, with Territory and Municipal Services announcing a $230,000 upgrade in the works.
“Glebe Park is a popular recreational destination for Canberrans on weekends and also at lunchtimes during the week,” said Diana Hill, Manager, Design and Development, said.
“With the continued growth in the number of people living and working in the City, as well as nearby residential developments about to be completed, this paving upgrade will improve the quality and safety of the Glebe Park pavement.
“About 1300 square metres of paving to the northern section of Glebe Park will be replaced which had deteriorated due to constant use. The upgrade builds on the replacement of a 6500 square metres of paving that was renewed in 2010. The new clay pavers have been selected to match the existing paving.
“Recreational access to this part of Glebe Park will be improved once the new pavers are laid,” Ms Hill said.
