ACT Policing have put out a media release offering a $250 000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/s responsible for the murder of Susan Winburn, a Gordon resident found dead in her home on January 13, 2004.

ABC Online also have coverage with a peculiar quote from CPO Audrey Fagan:

“We know that from the neck compressions that caused the death that there is somebody at large and from our professional experience for every one person, someone will have knowledge,” he said.

“And it is either a person or persons who are responsible for this death.”

Can anyone recall a similar reward being offered?

Wasn’t it offered for the girl who was found in Lake BG? She was last seen buying cigarettes at Gold Creek and then vanished before being found a few days later. Scurrilous rumour and innuendo had it that the cops knew who done it but had no way to prove it. Looks like they know fairly well who did for the woman in Gordon from reading Saturday’s paper but they just need one of the gang to break silence.

I have this idea they had a similar reward for another murder…there were posters all round Civic about it maybe six months ago. I’m very hazy on the details though and can’t remember a name. I think they may have even doubled the reward at one stage.
