2CC Off Air [Sorta]

By Samuel Gordon-Stewart - 10 November 2005 56

A few minutes ago 2CC (1206 AM) disappeared from the Canberra airwaves…or at least the ones in my house, can somebody else confirm this please?

During the 3PM news 2CC suddenly dropped out and went to static which makes me think the transmitter has failed…all my radios say the same thing.

Love them or hate them, any TV or radio station just “disappearing” from the airwaves is a major issue.

Edit: Never mind, they fixed it…sort of…keeps cutting out though.

What’s Your opinion?

Cameron, as i understand radio ratings, anyone who’s accidentally listened for 5 seconds while tuning their car stereo gets marked as a listener and flogged to gullible advertisers accordingly.

I’m not entirely sure how you go about selling an ancient and/or insane audience to advertisers, but thirty years later 2CC is still with us it seems.

How many unfortunate people listen to 2CC? I have to admit I was only vaguely aware of the existence of the station.

Master controller there must be having multiple orgasms. Tell him to concentrate on the VU meters, not to pull his wire.

Speaking of which, 2CC have had more intermittent failures throughout this afternoon. 4 times this hour so far, all of roughly 15-30 seconds duration.

ok, I’ve just posted a whole new story that you kids can all pay each other out on. Can we keep this one reserved for the original topic which was about 2CC being off the air.

Thanks and have a nice day.

Mael,
My blog is worth $1,693.62.How much is your blog worth?

Technoratie doesn’t seem to pick up TSSH so the links they provided probably aren’t calculated

Let me thank you all for your comments, even if they were against me…excluding Caz…I’m not thanking her.

STW, it actually started with someone on spinstartshere posting a link to my “boring” blog a few weeks ago.

Cameron, good coincidence…

Indi, Kane has left the station, it has been officially confirmed.

Cameron 10:54 am 11 Nov 05

I guess the fact is that all of the material that spinstartshere used is actually from the SGS blog. I just don’t think there’s a need for them to collectively take the piss to such an extent. Hey, I might agree with some or all of what they said (and I might not) but I don’t see reason to plaster it all over the web.

Over on spinstartshere some of the posts discuss the possibility that SGS has some sort of mental condition – maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t – but the fact that they continue to take the piss after realising this possibility is all the more disturbing.

SGS might need to get a life beyond 2CC and his blog, but spinstartshere should lay off.
