ACT Roadworkers continue to mislead with wrong signage

Thanks for bringing this up. Congrats to the road workers who thought it would be a good idea on Wednesday to close half the Hindmarsh and Yamba Dr intersection at 5pm. One of the busiest intersections in Canberra and they had traffic banked back to Adelaide Av, good work boys!
Face it, they won’t read this anyway, they can’t even arrange some logical signs properly so reading must be beyond grasp.

No one ever reads or obeys them anyway. I have lost count of the number of times I have seen signs like those above, applied correctly, which are meant as warnings to get in the correct lane before it’s too late, yet you still have idiots going full pelt and hitting the anchors when they see the road end. The same people then also try and force their way into the continuing lane like they have the right to, which they don’t as you need to give way when changing lanes.

It’s easy, just stop and do a u-turn, doesn’t say you can’t do that.

That one is easy, you can’t drive on the grass, OR use the bike lane… Pfft..

You just have to read them left to right, but as one sign instead of two!

Can someone please just “accidentally” knock the wrong one down? Problem solved.
