A Buckingham Place garage burned down early on Tuesday morning and police suspect the fire was caused by a hydroponic cannabis set-up.
The fire brigade was called to the Amaroo house (see, it is in Canberra after all) at 4.30am and, after putting the fire out, discovered an “elaborate hydroponic set-up”.
Police were called and 20 mature plants were discovered.
The hydroponic operation was allegedly being powered by diverting a nearby electricity line, which could possibly be what caused the fire.
