The War Memorial has announced that they’re going to display the artwork of Jon Cattapan from his time in East Timor:
- “Jon Cattapan’s works have only just arrived at the Memorial this week, so it’s a great opportunity to display the Memorial’s latest official war art,” said Nola Anderson, Assistant Director for National Collection.
“During his time in East Timor, he took digital images through night vision goggles, which became the inspiration for the paintings he produced as a response to his experience.
The exhibition is only on display to the public this weekend so those involved in the Timor intervention, or just those interested in modern art, would be well advised to make time to see it.
UPDATE: The War Memorial have kindly sent in an examples of what you can expect to see.
