Public talk: A fly on the wall - solving crime with fly poo

It sounds like something out of CSI but these days the common blowfly is helping investigators to fight crime in more ways than one. Everything from helping to establish time since death to providing human DNA at the crime scene, the common blowfly is providing the missing clues to modern crimes.

As part of our Science Fiction becomes Science Fact public speaker series, Dr Annalisa Durdle will take you through her interesting discoveries about blowflies, some of which will really surprise you!

Join us at the Academy as we explore our new public lecture series ‘Science Fiction Becomes Science Fact’ Our monthly talks will discuss the ways in which popular culture has often fuelled real life scientific discoveries.
