Yep +1 for Honkytonks. Beats the Ikea vibe at Beach Burrito. Guzman is great for hangovers though.

This, exactly. I love Guzman y Gomez, but as delicious as the food is, there has to be a place in Canberra that can do better tacos than a chain restaurant.

It is unfortunate but that is the case. I’m a fan of Honkytonks tacos but they are not a mexican/texmex restaurant which seems impossible to find locally, or at least one that has food worthy of the title.

Elk and Pea make yummy tacos, and I’ve heard good things about Honkeytonks offerings, although I haven’t sampled them myself.

This discussion makes me sad, as it reminds me of how grim the Mexican Food situation has been ever since Malibu Mex changed hands all of those years ago. Sigh.

Oh this is a delicious topic! The crispy chicken tacos at Elk and Pea in Braddon are by far my favourite, closely followed by their mango salmon tacos. So good.
