Sadly the later models are no longer available with manual transmissions and they seem to be built for export to countries where pygmies are the main customers.

I’ve got a 4yo Camry, far from being built for pygmies. It is a big big car, just a little smaller than a Bombodore, but feels like far more room inside. Massive boot as well. Its a little bit thirsty being a 4cyl pulling around the weight it does, but not excessively so.

They of course stopped making a V6 Camry years ago, well badged as a Camry, the Aurion is the V6 Camry. Also goes like the clappers. In some ways probably should have brought one of them instead as it is better on the juice.

Two things! “Hoon” and “Camry” in the same sentence ???? I’m calling BS

And the Police have the license details but don’t know where to look ???? Something fishy here!

You can be a boon in any car. Hooning refers to the behaviour of the driver, not the vehicle.

Police aren’t asking where the car is. They are asking for witnesses to the offences.

First sentence of the article says police are “searching” for the car.

I agree with other bit, although in defense of the Camry it’s more to do with its unattractiveness to your typical joining demographic rather than its lack of abilities. I have one (yes, a green one) with the 3litre V6 and 5 speed and its a surprisingly quick car capable of a lot more than most Camry owners use them for.

Still a lot of 12 -15 year old Camry’s around. One of the best cars ever made in Australia. Reliable, roomy and economical to run. I have had two.

Never tried a V-6 3 litre – I got into enough strife with the 2.4 litre 4 cylinder.
If the wanted car is a 300 model with a hubcap missing I am sure it is still driving around Tuggers.
“Green Camry” is like saying “male person”. We need at least the year and model type.

That should read “is a 2003 model”.

Some of the best backwards donuts I have ever done were in a Camry. ………..on private land in a controlled circumstance of course!

Indeed. The sooner the ACT government passes it’s anti-booning legislation the better.

And to be fair, the post could have been worded better. The first sentence literally says that the police are looking for a car that was driving dangerously all by itself.

Yes it was poorly worded, but that’s situation normal of the AFP media team!

Plates match the car but it has been unregistered since first of July, so either stolen or sold legit to someone dodgy I guess.
