Who remembers going to Pizza Hut in the ’90s and being told you had to eat something substantial before going crazy at the dessert bar, filling your bowl up with ice cream, chocolate cake, red and green jelly, marshmallows, chopped nuts and sprinkles? OK, it may have just been the children of the ’90s who did this. But it was the best.
In my books, a good buffet/all-you-can-eat has a wide variety of cuisines that both kids and adults will be content with. Both hot and cold food is a must, as well as a good salad bar and the all important dessert bar.
It seems that buffets are few and far between these days. I think Australia wide there are only a handful of Pizza Hut buffets left, and I know there are a few Sizzler restaurants around the place (though I’ve never been!). But where in Canberra can you find a good buffet? I’m on the hunt for the best all-you-can-eat in the ACT and I’ll announce the result in next Monday’s taste off.
