ACT otherWISE and Green Threads join forces again to bring you another GIANT clothes swap event at this years Canberra Walk Against Warming, this Saturday December 12th on the lawns of New Parliament House. The purpose of the swap is to raise awareness of the impacts that our wardrobe choices can have on the environment, and to explore alternative options to a continuous cycle of consumption.
But as well as having a sustainable message, clothes swapping is a whole lot of fun and a great way to revamp your wardrobe for summer. Its easy to participate, just bring your good quality, unwanted clothes on the day and drop them off from 11am. The Walk Against Warming will start at 11:30, then the SWAP will start after that at 12 and continue until 3 as part of Market Day at Walk Against Warming.
Bring as much as you like, take as much as you like. Play dress ups. Appreciate your clothes.
Nothing to swap? That’s OK. Take what you like and make a donation to ACT otherWISE – help support youth led sustainability in the ACT
You can also drop clothes for the swap at the Conservation Council from Monday the 7th of December if you don’t want to bring them on the day.
They’re at Childers Street Acton, between Uni Lodge and the Street Theatre.
