just waiting for the Chrysler 300C to start depriciating enough so i can buy one . ill worry about the tax when i cross that bridge in 6 years!

If we want to get into budget issues, it’s probably worth noting that monies flowing forth from the feds are increasingly coming with ideological price tags – sign this, sign that, no TAFE money without teachers being put on AWAs etc. I wonder if this is part of the reason for the shortfall.

Do our town councillors ever think of doing something about efficiently running the town instead of just publishing puff about their favourite cause?

I think they are referring to Stamp Duty?

Under the ACT’s agreement with the Feds on GST I don’t think they can do this.

I assume this is just about new cars then?

Seems a bit more about revenue raising than the fairness being claimed.

(and is it just me or are political parties bastardising all the good words these days – freedom, choice, trust, fairness. Over it)

thats why i do my bit for the environment by driving ancient cars.

unless it was part of a salary package, i cant imagine why i would buy a new car which devalued the second you drove it out the caryard gate.
