The Canberra Times has the astonishing news that the unprecedented phenomena of winter rain is causing chaos to the genii responsible for the roadworks colliding across town:
Road projects at Molonglo have been deluged, leading to the standing down of 140 workers, and the city’s highest profile roads job – the Russell roundabout bridge – is having a ‘‘nightmare’’ and needs at least a week of clear weather to get back on track. The man building the earthworks for John Gorton Drive, the main arterial route that will serve the city’s new Molonglo suburbs, Geoff Hewatt of Hewatt Earthworks, said the job had been hit with flooding from all sides.
Water from the sky? I mean who saw that coming?
