The Australian National University has the good news that their Classics Museum has re-opened after an extensive refurbishment.
Speaking at the official launch of the new museum last week ANU Chancellor, Professor the Hon Gareth Evans said the museum provides the broader public with the opportunity to engage with our ancient Mediterranean heritage.
“With this splendid refurbishment, the Classics Museum will take its rightful place as one of the University’s cultural jewels, and a place which many visitors to Canberra will want to visit,” said Professor Evans.
If you’ve got an interest in ancient Greece and Rome it’s well worth a visit for Canberra residents too. It can be found in the AD Hope building, just off University Avenue if memory serves.
