The ABC has a story on concerns being raised about whether ActewAGL is getting carbon credits to match the green energy they sell.
A spokeswoman for Treasurer Katy Gallagher says there is no immediate evidence to support the allegations.
Actew AGL says the claims as completely untrue.
A statement from the chief executive Michael Costello says the claims are false because the agreement with the Government started back in 1998, when carbon credits did not exist.
The statement says the deal did not relate to green energy, but was based on an agreement to supply the Government with energy sourced from two Canberra land fill sites.
