Dickson Tradies regulars have, for a few weeks now, been grossly inconvenienced by renovations. It’s a big deal when a place’s primary draw is that it never changes. TV ads have recently been spruiking “The New Tradies” which I thought odd when the current tradies was the old tradies whith sections boarded up and the noodle house taking orders from the hot dog stand.
Today I have seen the New Tradies. The carpet has made the great leap forward from “1950’s Ramada” to “1970’s Hilton” the plasma screen is bigger, but less tables can see it as it’s against the long wall, and the noodle house looks like a japanese ramen joint.
The Tram is GONE.
In somewhat related news, today I passed an eye over a livejournal entry talking about the wonder of the tradies and referring to an article by a “guy” called caz.
For years Caz has mocked me that in spite of my frequenting the joint she’s got a lock on it in google. I hate that.
