I don’t actually have a lot of clear memories of the time, to be frank.

I did some set design and construction with phoenix Players 10+ years ago. They used the old woolshed and a couple of shipping containers out there to store their costunea, sets and props.

I also did school holiday program out there with BlueFolk when in Primary School (late 70’s and early 80’s). I recall one program being pirate themed and another involving gypsies…

I remember that there was a wooden ship play area at blue folk, not the type you get these days, and that the craft activities were great – lots of old memories from those days, before I was shipped off to the YMCA uriarra, by my parents. I remember the mornings when there was fog, the ship was great to play on, we could imagine we were at sea….

I did BlueFolk for a couple of years when I was a kid – this must have been the late 70s or very early 80s, from memory. I thought it was pretty cool at the time. Many years later I discovered that the guy running the classes was… er, not the kind of guy I’d leave my kids with, let’s put it that way.
