Police have arrested a 19-year-old man following what they described as “a significant police operation” in Curtin yesterday (30 April).
An ACT Policing spokesperson said police had been investigating the man for a number of days following his alleged involvement in multiple incidents.
The man has been charged with numerous offences including two charges of driving a vehicle without consent, two charges of failing to stop for police, two charges of arson, as well as possession of an offensive weapon, burglary and theft.
At about 5:30 pm yesterday, investigators received information that the man was located at a residence in Curtin and a coordinated arrest operation began.
The man was subsequently arrested without incident. Police recovered a firearm and items of property believed to have been stolen.
The man is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today. Police will oppose bail.
