One of the region’s most iconic venues, The Royal Queanbeyan Hotel will host a brilliant night of live music this Sunday when Mahalia Barnes stops in with her band The Soul Mates. Barnes’ signature gutsy soul sound will be on full display as Queanbeyan continues to put on intimate, COVID-safe shows.
Back across the border, local rock bands Flash Anthem and Slow Dial will take to the stage in a double-header on Wednesday night hosted by SubTerra and The Basement. The promoters have been working together to bring Canberrans a string of gigs in recent months.
Plenty of venues around town are using the limitations of social distancing to their advantage, finding new ways to connect audiences with the city’s best musical talent. University of Canberra’s The Well continues its Dinner With … series this week with an appearance from AYA YVES while City Renewal Authority’s Lunchbox Acoustic series takes over Garema Place each weekday featuring performances from Cathy Diver, Michael Bones, Canberra Soul Club and more.
