s.wells and Scoob McGoon are set to perform in the intimate surrounds of Gang Gang Cafe this weekends as Undine Records wraps up their residency at the Downer venue. By all accounts the series has been a roaring success, with a host of punters each week stuck outside looking in through the glass, unable to nab a pre-sale ticket for themselves.
Undine artist Cathy Diver is also performing this week as part of the City Renewal Authority’s Lunchbox Acoustic series in City Walk. Canberra House Social are also taking a turn at utilising the public space this Saturday.
This week also marks your first chance to vote for your favourite Canberra act in triple j’s Hottest 100. Plenty of local artists are in with a shot at making this year’s countdown and the extended Hottest 200. Genesis Owusu’s ‘Don’t Need You’ and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers’ ‘Desk Chair’ both cracked high rotation on the station whilst Sputnik Sweetheart’s ‘Rolling’ has been a hit on the broadcasters independent music station Unearthed.
