ACT Policing has today conducted further activity and seizures following numerous dangerous driving incidents across the ACT last weekend.
Last Friday and Saturday nights (8 and 9 January) a large group of vehicles was observed doing burnouts at a number of locations across Canberra. Police have now seized a total of four vehicles in relation to these incidents.
Following the seizure of two Holden Commodore sedans in Fyshwick on the evening of 8 January, police today (15 January) seized a Ford Falcon sedan and a Holden Commodore utility.

Police have also identified the man they will allege smashed the back window of a marked police vehicle on Friday evening in Fyshwick. A court summons will be issued in relation to the incident.

Detective Inspector Adrian Craft said the drivers of the seized vehicles could also face charges.
“The behaviour these drivers displayed showed a total disregard for law and put lives in danger,” Detective Inspector Craft said.
“Police want to send the message to the drivers that the actions seen last weekend will not be tolerated [so] don’t be surprised when police come knocking.”

The investigation into the incidents last weekend remains ongoing and police may conduct further seizures and arrests.
