Crapola land titles system

whats even worse is ‘dongle’ licensed apps.

a pc here has a box of dongles, cos depending on what app needs to be run, the appropriate dongle has to be used. very irritating.

i recall in a former life, two inhouse it staff would spend half a day every month reloading an app and fooling the machine as our boss ddnt want to spend $230 on a licence. the techs of course were paid for from someone elses budget.

a commodore 64 wouldn’t crash

This is 2007. There are no excuses for not being able to put data into an automated system.

i’m guessing its an Access 97 application written by someguy who went on a (govt paid) two week “Design An Access Application” course and has cost 10x more (in support and maintenance and training) than a professional application would have from the start.

if renters can’t move in for another week due to delayed processing, i wonder if the ACT Gov is going to cough up for any short term renting expenses some renters may have to use ?
