All retailers selling the new Harry Potter book have all signed an agreement that they won’t open the boxes of “The Deathly Hallows” until 9am Saturday for the world wide release. There is a rumour in the book trade that the big guns might decide to open their boxes Friday to either get a jump on the competition or follow their big superstore parents in the US and UK if they go earlier. The talk is that they are willing to risk the lawsuit simply because the penalties have never been specified by the publisher.
If anyone spots a shop in Canberra doing this can you let me know? I want to get my copy as soon as possible and I also think the embargo and world wide release could do with a shake up since it’s been leaked on the net anyway.
