ACTION wishes to advise that no buses will be running between 10:00am and 2:00pm on Friday 10 August 2007. This is to enable drivers to attend a planned meeting.
Please plan ahead and make other travel arrangements between 10:00am and 2:00pm on Friday 10 August 2007.
School services will not be affected.
ACTION apologises for the inconvenience this may cause.

So i wouldn’t plan on catching a bus even around those times..

[Ed. ABC online have this story this morning explaining the reason for the meeting is ongoing disgruntlement by drivers around the shift structure. For those who have travelled on busses in the last week you may have also noticed that action are running a survey about bus routes. seems that not all services are getting the survey though.]

Well my recent experience is that the drivers are taking matters into their own hands anyway. Cse in point, the service I regularly catch home from Barton is set to leave at 5.04, however, Mr Bus Driver has apprently decided that it should leave earlier and has been doing so for about three weeks. The end result of numerous contacts with ACTION Customer Service by both phone and email is that a member of staff has decided that Mr Bus Driver is right and so the designated departure time is now 5.01. Thanks a lot, now I will just catch a bus to Belconnen and walk to Florey, in the dark with the White Cane, yes folks Vision Impaired walking the dark, but ACTION couldn’t give a stuff.

I will cruise around with 8 cylinders burbling. Buses just slow me down anyway.

I just hope certain ungrateful members of the public don’t take it out on the drivers. My dad’s a driver. After their last outing, he went back to work and was abused and spat on. He came home pretty shocked and shaken. Full marks to any of you who may have done the same thing to a driver somewhere. Does it make you feel brave to pick on an innocent 62 year old guy?? The thing that makes me feel really pissed off is the fact that the drivers’ went out not just for themselves, but for the ungrateful public too. Afterall, it was them that were losing their bus services. My dad and the rest of them were fighting to keep them for you all!! He used to bend over backwards for people too. Drop them off near their homes, pick them up if they weren’t at bus stops etc. etc. Needless to say, he doesn’t bother anymore. Good on ya, the General Public!! I hope you all feel proud of yourselves!!

Bus 36! LOL! i think i drove past that bus but there was no passengers there when i did.

To quote the character of Sgt. Hartman from the movie Full Metal Jacket… out-f*cking-standing!

Last week, around 12 of us were left standing in the cold (5degrees-southerly wind my phone said) for over 30minutes because the No.36 bus broke down. The guy said that we should just wait for the next one. Far be it for them to put a replacement bus on that route so the old lady, the kids from the college and the business people aren’t getting hypothermia!

The 3 passengers will make other arrangements.
