Katy Gallagher has announced, wait for it, “a formal consultation process around staffing levels for the new Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU)”.
“The Health Directorate has begun a workforce consultation process which will involve discussions with health staff and consultation with health unions under Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.
“The new Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit has been specifically designed to support a new Model of Care, and as such the Health Directorate has recognised a need to increase staffing levels within medical, nursing, administrative and clinical support staff,” the Chief Minister said.
Call me crazy but would it not, perhaps, have been sensible to figure out how many people were going to be working there before finalising plans and laying bricks?
