Help with bugs in our bathrooms please!

hmm i used to have a problem with tiny flying bugs that were small enough to get through the fly screen and were attracted to the lights…i found the only way of curbing them was to liberally spray mortein 6 month outdoor protection (or something similar…this one is what i have been using lately) on all window frames and doors…has been working to date!

Thanks Floydwafer…if I can manage to capture a photo of the beetles, given how small they are, and how old our camera is, I will follow your advice.

Thanks Time_killer. I checked that list myself as well…and no, my beetle doesn’t appear there. The Fungus-eating ladybird beetle comes closest, but doesn’t seem to be the one. That list shows ladybird beetles from the Brisbane area…perhaps I need one that shows ones from the Canberra area.

are they bugs or beetles? beetles have a hard shell and the wing covers are split straight down the middle of the back a (like a lady bird beetle). The wings on bugs cross over on the back (like on a ‘stink bug’)

Fiddlesticks, it’s hard to say, as they are so small, but I just tried to have a look at a couple then using a magnifying glass, and I would say they are beetles and not bugs…there seemed to be a line down the middle of their backs. Their size is more like a tick, rather than a ladybird beetle.

I dont think they’d be baby ladybird beetles, the ‘babies'(larvae) dont look like little beetles they are are soft and spikey believe it or not!
