Multicultural Minister Joy Burch is asking the public to put their hands up to help out on a voluntary basis at the Multicultural Festival, (aka Beer And Meat On A Stick Day or BAMOASD in these parts):
“Being involved in the Festival gives volunteers a direct role in its staging with event day positions including stage managers, stage manager’s assistants, announcers, event set-up, information officers, runners and administration staff.”
Applicants are able to nominate for different roles and state their availability for as many hours as they like.
Applications close on 30 December 2011 and an information and training session for volunteers will be held on 31 January 2012.
“Volunteering at the Festival provides a great chance to see behind the scenes at one of Australia’s leading multicultural events and ensure that the thousands of people who attend have a great time.”
