Tonight at the Greenroom is a gig not to be missed. Direct from Tokyo, Japanese rockabilly/indie/classic band Ikochi are playing. They are fantastic!

Described as Japan’s own “Hedwig and The Angry Inch” Japanese three-piece IKOCHI are set rock Canberra as part their first ever Australian tour.

IKOCHI’s sound spans Japanese traditional through to Showa era and Rockabilly/Punk is an experience that takes you from swoon to mosh in 30 seconds and then back again. Stunning ‘new-half’ (that’s transgender to us Aussies!) lead singer/guitarist Chikako steals the show but is admirably backed up by bass player Kota Minato and drummer Daisuke Arita.

IKOCHI are playing the University of Canberra’s Green Room on Friday November 16th with local supports Are The Brave All Dead and The Gashes. Tickets $10. Doors 8pm – 2-4-1 Jagerbombs till 9pm..

Have a listen on youtube http://www.myspace.com/ikochi
