While surfing the JJJ Unearthed website on Thursday night I was astonished to find that a local band called Manilla Green was 16th on the overall ‘Top 100 Chart” for the long running competition, with all their 3 possible entries in the top 5 on the Indie Chart. Unearthed is designed to give bands and musicians a chance to show their stuff to Australia and maybe get discovered by large recording companies. Canberra bands have done pretty well over the years and I am sure we will continue to maintain a high level of quality when it comes to local music!
Being involved in, and enjoying Canberran music for over 20 years has made me a worthy critic of sorts. I’ve visited Manilla Green’s Unearthed page and discovered that you can vote for each artist!
