So let’s get this right.

1) $2.3 million per year to get these guys here.
2) Four matches played here a year.
3) Attendance per match is 4,222 backsides.

Now, solve for variable x, where x = (Barr’s self indulgence)

$2,300,000/4 = $575,000 per match.
$575,000/4,222 = $136.19 per backside.

Those two ladies, people, just cost you $272.38.

(Note: I suspect the one on the left, however, is getting a slightly more of the subsidy than the one on the right.)

Looking at that crowd and given the town has been awash with free tickets for a fortnight the govt must have subsidised each paying customer for about $10,000 each.

There were 4222 for a practice match. Watch MO sell out when the real stuff starts.

Did I need to remind you Rugby knuckleheads, that this was originally a Australian Rules town.

Of course it’s not an imported sport from a far off land.
