There were no surprises when the Melbourne Storm beat the Raiders by 20-0 on Saturday night. A match summary is available at the Canberra Times site.
For 70 minutes of the game, the Raiders’ defended their line well. However, Jason Smith just could not get his kicks to work, and the Storm also successfully prevented the Raiders from playing the ball quickly.
Unfortunately Simon Woolford continued to set a poor example for his team, being put on report for a high tackle. Tyran Smith was also placed on report for a high tackle, and Adam Mogg was sent to the sin bin with 10 minutes of the game remaining. Having conceded around 9 penalties, the Raiders are lacking in discipline on the field. Some may even say the Raiders play grubby football. This needs to be addressed.
