There's nothing quite like this grand palace on the edge of Yass

For those concerned about the managing the “massive” property, Ms Jenkins says it comes with ride-on lawnmowers so you can repurpose the land for pretty much anything. Photos: LJ Hooker Woden/Weston.

If 1 Shearsby Crescent is one thing, it isn’t small. Set across 22 acres, the remarkable scenery of this homestead with two additional dwellings, a natural springs-fed lake and private forest holds endless potential.

As you come down the tree-lined driveway, the property’s residences are in full view, along with the 2.5-acre lake full of yellow fin and silver perch fish.

Skirting the water’s edge is a medley of pine, cypress and eucalyptus trees hosting a choir of birds, while beneath them are a flock of sheep and alpacas – which are all included.

LJ Hooker licensed agent Pauline Jenkins says there’s nothing comparable to the property, which is only a three to four minute drive away from the centre of Yass and on the town’s water system.

“There’s three dwellings on the property,” Ms Jenkins said.

“You’ve got the main residence, a one bathroom cottage that is just really neat, and a granny flat that doesn’t actually need council approval because it’s on a trailer so you can relocate it anywhere.

“The vendors love the lifestyle, privacy, tranquillity, walking through the pine forest, fishing, watching the kids play in the pool whilst looking out at the stunning views. And, of course, the huge kitchen and master bedroom.”

While the extra three-bedroom residence and transportable granny flat are perfect for additional income or visiting guests, the most striking section of the property is the main homestead.

Ms Jenkins says upon entering, you’re struck by how “absolutely stunning” it is, with a very wide hallway and beautiful lights guiding you through to the huge kitchen with a 40 mm stone benchtop and three sinks.

“The master bedroom is massive and has a walk-in wardrobe just as big as a small bedroom. Then you’ve got a really large ensuite and this beautiful free-standing bath that looks right out into a gorgeous view of the property,” she said.

“You can probably fit two families in it too. But there’s also one bedroom up the hallway that has its own bathroom, a good place to leave the in-laws if you need some privacy.”

Out the sliding back doors is a salt water swimming pool and outdoor open-air hot tub, which reflect the natural light into the north-facing back of the house.

Ms Jenkins says the residences have very good insulation, and some rooms have double-glazed windows.

“I went in on a hot 37 degree day and despite a little cooling from the air conditioner in the morning, it was very comfortable and didn’t need anything else until nightfall.”

“This is pretty rare, you don’t really find many properties that are so beautiful and tranquil.”
