Lyneham Shops

The turbo slam is high-energy poetry competition for cash prizes. Competitors are awarded points according to the quality of writing, the delivery and the audience’s reaction. Pieces should be under three minutes and must be original.

An open mic at the start of the night gives poets a chance to read their and other writers’ work without restriction by slam rules to an appreciative and sometimes raucous audience.

Book a spot in the slam at the door from 7.30.

$3 / free entry for slam performers.

@hb, farny stuff, nice poem, you should enter. 1st prize, pair of decent pants. 2nd prize, a real Aussie accent (none of that fake American cr@p that’s coming out of these youths mouths), and 3rd prize, a jar of jam.

Ima white upper middle class
But my jeans hang around my ass
I like to hang with my bro
All da time on Bebo
If I can’t be a Nigga
I’ll be a wanna be gangsta
Visitn’ time at Quamby
Dat’s where my Mom’ll be
If my hair starts to sag
I wear a Do-rag
Da streets are tuff
Slammin’s the stuff
dat makes me feel free
of middle class mediocrity
Wish I could be in da States
with all my rappin’ mates
Talkin’ shit slam
Dat’s da jam

You toss pots – Slam? Crock of shit breeding ground for pretend wanna be American ganstas. This is the type of shit that is breeding youth gangs based loosely upon American youth crime gangs. Morons – go and read some Yeats.
