The inexorable rise of the steel and concrete edifice granted a New York name despite dubious claim to such an evocative moniker continues apace as the fluorescently clad ants clamber around in never ending toil from dawn until dusk (metaphorical perhaps) to complete the future palaces of the next inner-city generation.
All too soon the activities will be masked from view, leaving we once privileged ones no better than the plebs down in the street, unable to marvel at the spectacle of efficiency daily displayed for our hungry souls to absorb. We will then be forced to return blindly to the empty soul-less desks we inhabit, secretly guarding our jealousies for those who produce such obvious ‘concrete’ results day after day.
