It’s an ongoing source of frustration in Canberra, but following this morning’s whoopsy in the Canberra Times (screenshot below, apparently introduced by the sub-editor as it’s right in the copy) we thought it was time for a public service announcement.
Quite what Charles Conder did to deserve having a darkest Tuggeranong suburb named after him remains a mystery to us. But it is named after the painter and his name is spelled with an “er” at the end.
The majestic condor on the other hand is the largest flying bird in the western hemisphere and is not known for beginning the Australian tradition in Western art.
