Fireworks last night

For f**ks sake! Something of such earth shattering importance is bound to be on WIN News tonight or maybe front page of The Canberra Times.
I saw a fire engine entering a road at the side of the Canberra Centre yesterday, does anyone know what was going on? Also, my neighbour’s dog barked twice this morning, what’s all that about?? Anyone??

The libs proposed pre-election to ba fireworks. Will they use their huge Stanhope-toppling victorious mandate to band together with the greens to put an end to fireworks in the ACT? See how being crossbench can result in good outcomes, the greens could not do that sort of thing if they were in cabinet.

I heard them all the way down in Monash

I also heard the ones in Mawson at 2 am. I could swear they were being let off on Wilkins St. Went on for about 30 seconds and pretty much woke up the entire suburb.

Sorry, the boss says it was the night before in Wanniassa. It was in the wee hours, and they were littlies, you wouldn’t have heard them more than a few houses away.

Yeah, I heard them in Duffy too. Not sure what time, but they sounded like gunshots at first.

I definitely heard the fireworks at around 2am in Garran, but at around 8.30-9 there was a pretty massive sounding explosion as if something large was being detonated near the hospital (or even the hospital itself…). Any ideas what that one was?

I was under the impression that the 2am bangs were coming from Edison Park, but I wouldn’t necessarily back my sense of direction at that time of night.
