Canberra CBD have announced they’re not done with the Centenary:
Winding down from a vibrant Centenary Year, Canberra CBD Limited is gifting a sculpture and time capsule to the people of Canberra.
Preparations have begun for the unveiling of the Canberra Centenary Column sculpture and time capsule on 11 March 2014 atop City Hill.
Jane Easthope, CEO of Canberra CBD Limited says that the legacy time capsule fulfils their vision to grow Canberra’s City into a place of shared excitement and anticipation.
“This is a really exciting project to be involved in,” Ms Easthope said. “We are facilitating the opportunity for Canberrans in 2113 to discover unique stories that helped shape the first 100 years as the nation’s capital.”
Artist Geoff Farquhar-Still has been commissioned by Canberra CBD Limited to bring to life the sculpture that will house the time capsule – and 100 unique objects, each telling their own story.
