Katy Gallagher has unveiled the ACT Primary Health Care Strategy 2011–2014.
“The strategy details the key principles and priorities that will guide primary health care policy, planning and practice in the ACT into the future.”
The Chief Minister said the strategy builds on the previous plan and identifies seven priority areas for action including:
— improving access and reducing inequity;
— improving continuity and coordination of care especially for people with chronic conditions;
— increasing the focus on health promotion, prevention, early intervention and consumer empowerment;
— improving quality, safety, performance and accountability;
— information management;
— workforce; and
— infrastructure.
Hard to disagree with those motherhood statements.
