Joy Burch is celebrating the numeracy and literacy achievements of the ACT’s children:
The ACT remains the highest performing jurisdiction in Australia for reading and numeracy among students in Year 3 to 9, a COAG Reform Council report issued today shows.
ACT Minister for Education Joy Burch welcomed the results of the National Education Agreement (NEA) Education 2011: Comparing performance across Australia report, which also showed the ACT has the highest number of young people with a formal qualification and working towards a qualification.
“The results reflect the very high standard of education offered by ACT schools, and the comprehensive supports available to students as they transition to the next phase of their lives,” Ms Burch said.
Here in the bunker we do wonder if the parents of the ACT don’t contribute to these results rather more than the schools.
But a win is a win and you take them as you get them.
