ACT Policing has a new website!

It includes such cutting edge upgrades as the decade old RSS (much appreciated assuming they can keep the feed in the same place).

Possibly of more interest will be the crime statistics. I look forward to the conclusions the RiotNerd community can come up with in the coming hours.

We are residing in Europe for a short time, and prior to this, I would also regularly complain about the presence of Police in the community and oft say “where are the Cops now when you need em”. But I can say for sure having now lived in another “first world” country, that Canberra Cops deserve a gold medal compared to the lazy sods here.

The Police can’t win …….. They get criticised for not keeping the community informed and when they do, they get criticised for wasting money !!!!!

I wonder how much public money was spent on this upgrade? Money better spent ‘Policing’.
Like the new graphics on all the police vehicles, how much did that cost? Does it increase the effectivness of the police, no I think not, what is the point of these police expendatures of public mone on what IMO is just fluff, how about more police on the beat instead of new model vehicles with flash vinals?

That’s a fairly petty gripe you’ve got there. New graphics? No. Does it increase the effectiveness of the police? Well, it makes the vehicles more visible, which is the point, isn’t it?

Do you really think cheap vinyl is particularly expensive considering it costs many thousands to fit out a police car?

As far as the website goes, I have no idea how much it would’ve cost, but I can almost guarantee it costs far less than putting even one recruit through training.

Maybe you can call ‘Dolly’ Parton tomorrow and whinge to him about it.

In the big scheme of things, this would not have cost much and the benefits of the new design (mainly style sheet changes from the looks of it) would justify the expense.

Obviously you sit in your chair and don’t know a thing about the AFP!

Maybe instead of criticising the Police, you should give them praise for the amount of work they must do to help our community stay safe!

Hmm I think you problem with the vehicles is redundant, they kinda need to have new and operational vehicles for safety reasons. The high visibility graphics are just that high visibility, they would have spent the money on the vinyls, they just upgraded them. It’s not like they stripped off the old cars and put new graphics on?

The AFP has a large and extensive IT section, I’m sure the man hours spent on the new website would have come out of the public service side of the AFP.

I think you just don’t like Police because you are a lazy public servant who has probably gotten in trouble for talking on your phone while you were driving.
