The Canberra Times and 666 ABC radio are reporting that senior Actew official Aspi Baria died in a boating accident near Moruya on Saturday morning.

Listeners of 666 will no doubt remember the cheery Aspi, who regularly gave his time to talk with presenters and listeners, often in the early hours of the morning.

Aspi was heavily involved in the proposal to introduce treated sewage into Canberra’s water supply, so no doubt his presence will be greatly missed.
